Don't Let Your Engagement Ring Keep You Up at Night: Why Sleeping in Jewellery Can be a Nightmare for Your Rings!

Over the years, our team at AJ’s OK has learnt some super amazing tips & tricks, although some are through trial & fail, we are here to present you with some tips specifically when it comes to WHEN to wear your jewels!

Here’s what happens when you sleep in your jewels…

When it comes to your engagement ring, necklaces or bracelets it can be tempting to want to wear them all the time, even when you're sleeping.

However, sleeping in your jewellery can actually cause damage to the pieces & can become uncomfortable for you or your significant other… think beard hair in a custom-designed engagement ring?!

Your jewellery can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions when left on for long periods of time. Many people have sensitive skin so wearing your rings to bed may cause itching, redness or even rashes. We have found that the reason some customers react to their jewellery is due to the dampness that is under your ring.

It's essential to keep your rings clean and dry and to remove them if they are causing discomfort or irritation. If you notice a rash or other symptoms that persist, we have many options to rectify this situation!

- Taking your jewellery off to sleep allows your skin to breathe & dry out! -

So many of your jewels can get tangled in your hair, clothing, sheets or significant others while you sleep, causing discomfort & even damage. This is especially true with long necklaces, layered chains, bracelets & dangly earrings.

Jewellery can damage your bedding or furniture. Rings, bracelets & other pieces of jewellery can snag on sheets, blankets or even furniture, causing tears or holes! Specifically, when you are asleep you are unaware of the snags that can happen & unfortunately could lead to you losing a necklace or even a gemstone while this happens.
